Industrial placements

EAT20008 Professional Experience in Engineering is a zero-credit compulsory module for all Engineering students on our accredited Engineering degree programs. Students are to acquire a minimum of 12 weeks equivalent of first hand industrial experience under this module.

Professional Experience activities include, but not limit to, the following:

  • Voluntary Industrial Work Placement
  • Discipline related Competitions
  • Industrial Visit
  • Industry Sponsored Final Year Project
  • Lecture or Seminar by External Industrial Speakers
  • Research on current Industrial Practices and Policies

Our current range of Engineering Degree and Double Degrees are listed on Swinburne’s website. We are actively seeking industrial partners to host students who are interested in taking up voluntary industrial work placement for a period of 8 to 12 weeks. The recommended period is usually during our semester breaks, i.e. from June to August, and December to February.
