Biography

Dr Ong is a second-career academic who joined Swinburne University, Sarawak campus in March 2010. He completed his PhD in November 2015 at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus, Kuching, Sarawak. His PhD research focuses on the re-entry experiences of second-career academics in Malaysian business schools. Leveraging on his extensive work experience across industrial sectors and geographical boundaries, he coordinates industry consulting projects that connects undergraduate students with the business. At the faculty, he teaches International Business study units encompassing global logistics, regional comparative business studies and industry consulting projects. Prior to joining academia, he held leadership positions in automobile retailing, construction, consulting, and turnkey contracting for major infrastructure works, including the RM140 Million New Limbang Airport Project, Sarawak, Malaysia completed in 2006.
