Welcome to Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus, a partnership between Swinburne University of Technology in Australia and the State Government of Sarawak. As a branch campus university in Malaysia, we offer identical degrees to those offered in Australia and we award the same Australian testamur – so you graduate with a Swinburne degree.
Swinburne is ranked among the top three percent of universities in the world by the Academic Ranking of World Universities. Recently, it was named as one of the top 100 universities under the age of 50 in the world by the Times Higher Education. Given these rankings, it is not surprising that over 90 percent of Swinburne Sarawak graduates are absorbed by employers six months after graduating. The high regard employers have for our graduates is a reflection of the quality education we provide and our commitment to industry engaged learning.
The range of business, computing, design, engineering and science courses we offer are in foundation, degree, masters and PhD levels. A strong practical component in our courses enables our students to engage with industry, develop their knowledge and skills, and apply these to real world situations, and thus be well prepared for the work they will undertake in their career.
We have highly qualified and experienced academic staff from all over the world who bring to the classroom a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise. In addition, our extensive quality assurance procedures involving continuous liaison and exchange of staff between our Malaysia and Australia campuses guarantee an internationally recognized qualification. So whether you complete your study in Kuching or at our campus in Melbourne, you are part of an international network from your first day with Swinburne.
Swinburne students are able to easily transfer to or from Australia/Malaysia at the end of any semester as the subjects and courses are the same – subject of course to obtaining the appropriate visa from the relevant government.
A world class university with highly advanced facilities, Swinburne Sarawak is committed to supporting and providing you with the best opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your career. One of the ways we do this is by creating new knowledge through research in collaboration with industry. The advances made from research then inform and enrich learning and teaching in the classroom.
With students from more than 60 countries, Swinburne Sarawak is a multicultural and vibrant campus. In today’s global economy, it is a priceless advantage for all our students to meet, get to know and come to understand and appreciate the points of view of people from other countries and cultures around the world. That in itself is a hugely important component of their education.
Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak, is a fabulous place to live, work and study. It has the natural beauty of Borneo, complemented by rapid development, including all the amenities such as shopping, theatres and good housing in a sophisticated urban environment. It is also a crossroads of several major cultures, a place where you will easily fit in. If you are not Malaysian you may also find visa and other prerequisites easier to obtain.
Have a look at our website and please ask our staff if you want further information. We would be very pleased to welcome you to Swinburne Sarawak.
