1. HEAD OF SCHOOL

School of Business & Enterprise

Candidates must possess a PhD in a relevant discipline from a recognized university. Candidates should have extensive educational management and research experience as well as a good understanding of the functions and operations of administration in a higher education institution.  The Head of School will provide academic leadership, including for scholarship and research, as well as executive management. The appointee will be responsible for the strategic and operational development of the School, and will work closely with the Director Academic and other Heads to advance the Academic Division and the University as a whole.

To be considered, candidates must address the key selection criteria (Section C) contained in the detailed Position Description which can be obtained from the Human Resource Department.  Applications should be consistent with the requirements of that document.

2. LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER

The successful applicant will be expected to prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and workshops and to assess students predominantly in the relevant discipline. A contribution to the Faculty’s research output and/or commercial consultancy services is required.  The successful applicant will assume administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties and will also contribute to Faculty management and administration generally.

Appointments will be based on the candidates’ qualifications and experience. We are looking for suitable candidates in the following disciplines: -

A. School of Business and Enterprise
a. Accounting
PhD or Master’s degree in Accounting. Must be a member of CPA and /or any other professional accounting bodies.
b. Marketing
PhD or Master’s degree (by research) in Marketing.
c. Management
PhD or Master’s degree (by research) in Business Management, Administration.
d. Law
PhD or Master’s degree in Law. Candidate with Upper Hons. In Law may also apply

B. School of Language and Foundation
a.   English

Master’s degree in TESOL, TESL, TEFL, or Applied Linguistics.
Must have PhD for Senior Lecturer post.
Must be able to teach at all levels of English and communication skill courses. Must be effective in teaching learners from other cultures.

General requirements for advertised positions A, and B: -

Excellent command in English both oral and written.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Expertise and experience appropriate to the level of appointment.
Work experience in tertiary education is an added advantage.

Fresh PhD holders are encouraged to apply.

C. School of Engineering & Science
a. Electronics and Computer System Engineering
  PhD or Master’s degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering specializing in one or more of the following areas: Integrated Circuit Design, Embedded System, Computer Architecture, Analog and Digital Circuit Design, VLSI Testing and Verification, Digital Signal Processor Architectures and Optimization, and Real Time O/S.

b. Electrical and Power Engineering

  PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical and Power Engineering specializing in one of the following areas:  Electrical Power Systems and its Control and Operation,  High Voltage DC Transmission, Power Electronics and Switch Mode Power Inverter Design, Sustainable and Renewable Energy (Electrical), Communication over Power Line.

3. ASSISTANT MANAGER, NATIONAL MARKETING AND RECRUITMENT
The Requirements: -
Relevant tertiary education from a recognised university preferably in communications, marketing, media and or its equivalent.
Minimum three years’ experience in business development and/or student recruitment.
Excellent Oral and interpersonal skills, written communication skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
Excellent skills in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Demonstrated experience and ability to manage staff with a diverse set of skills, and work effectively in an independent and team environment.
Excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Knowledge of the Malaysian education system and an understanding of key issues relating to the marketing and provision of private tertiary education in Malaysia is an advantage.

4. MARKETING EXECUTIVE
The Requirements: -
A diploma, degree or professional qualification in an area relevant to the duties from a recognized university. Undergraduate with minimum 2-3 years or diploma holder with minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
A level of maturity consistent with the requirements of the position for independent work, initiative and travel.
Marketing experience in an educational institution is an added advantage.

Excellent written and spoken English and good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a consultative and team environment.

Knowledge of the Malaysian education system and an understanding of the key issues relating to the marketing and provision of private tertiary education in Malaysia.
Ability to successfully prioritize and identify the best course of action in the implementation of marketing plans.

5. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (LINUX) (Position Description)
The Requirements: -
A degree from a recognized university or professional qualification in an area relevant to the duties with at least 3 years of working experience as a LINUX system administrator.
Extensive experience in the installation and configuration of RHEL or similar LINUX operating systems.
Experience and knowledge in supporting, monitoring and fine-tuning RHEL or similar LINUX operating systems.
Experience in supporting various applications and services in a LINUX environment, such as Oracle, Blackboard, RADIUS and OpenLDAP.

Experience and expertise in the following are preferred:
Web based application development using PHP and mySQL or similar.
Application development using C\C++ and Java programming languages.
Developing applications that communicate with network based services such as LDAP and my SQL.

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is highly desirable.

6. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (ORACLE) (Position Description)
The Requirements: -
A degree from a recognized university or professional qualification in an area relevant to the duties with at least 3 years of working experience as an Oracle database administrator.
Extensive experience in management of Oracle database systems in a UNIX/LINUX environment.
Experience in Oracle database maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery planning and practice.

Experience and expertise in the following are preferred:
Management and administration of Oracle Application Servers in UNIX/LINUX environment.
Experience and knowledge of mid-range and server based operating systems.

Experience in the management of MS-SQL database systems would be an advantage.
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is highly desirable.
7. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (EXCHANGE) (Position Description)
The Requirements: -
A degree from a recognized university or professional qualification in an area relevant to the duties with at least 3 years of working experience in administrating Microsoft Exchange mail systems.
Extensive experience in supporting, monitoring and fine-tuning Microsoft Exchange in an enterprise environment.
Advanced Windows Server 2003 administration experience.

Experience and expertise in the following are preferred:
Complex Active Directory environment/group policy administration.
Management of DNS, DFS, DHCP and WSUS systems.
Microsoft clustering and high availability implementation.

Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certification is highly desirable.
8. STUDENT OPERATIONS OFFICER (CLIENT SERVICES)

The Requirements: -
A degree in any discipline from a recognized university with 3 years’ relevant working experience; or a diploma holder with more than 5 years’ relevant working experience.
Excellent skills in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Pleasant personality with strong customer service focus and able to develop good working relationships with students, staff and external parties.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor students.
Good organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
9. STUDENT OPERATIONS OFFICER (ACCOMMODATION)
 
The Requirements: -
A degree in any discipline from a recognized university with 3 years’ relevant working experience; or a diploma holder with more than 5 years’ relevant working experience..
Pleasant personality with strong customer service focus and able to develop good working relationship with students, staff and external users
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor students.
Good organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent skills in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Willing to stay in the Warden’s Apartment to work outside office hours when required
