This course is designed to increase your knowledge, skills and understanding of mechanical engineering principles and fundamental knowledge of business studies. Typically, business studies commence in the third year of the program.

Students can complete the entire degree programme in Sarawak campus. Students will be able to transfer to Swinburne University of Technology, where the course is offered. Acceptance is subjected to academic merit and approval by the respective Faculty.

Note:
* The first 1.5 years of the recommended study sequence are common between the single Bachelor of Engineering and the double degree. This allows students with a suitable level of achievement to make a transition to the double degree.

* In addition to the above sequence, the successful completion of HED400 Professional Experience in Engineering is required for the award of the above degree and can be taken at any stage of the course.

* Students have the option to do Industry-Based Learning (IBL) for six to 12 months in Year 3 Semester 2. IBL can be used to fulfil the requirements of HED400.


Malaysian students are required by the Ministry of Higher Education to successfully complete the Compulsory Subjects (Mata Pelajaran Wajib) prior to graduation.

Employment Outcomes

Graduates of this double degree course may select paths from either Engineering or Business, or both discipline areas. Graduates will have an advantage in the market place compared to those with single discipline degrees.
