About the course

The Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Computer Systems engineering prepares graduates for professions characterised by the growth of new technologies and new opportunities. This course provides professional career opportunities in a range of dynamic high-technology areas including the overlapping fields of computer hardware and software, telecommunications, electronics and computer systems.

Swinburne also offers a double degree Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Computer Systems) / Bachelor of Science (Computer Science and Software Engineering).

Students can complete the entire degree programme in Sarawak campus. Students will be able to transfer to Swinburne University of Technology, where the course is offered. Acceptance is subjected to academic merit and approval by the respective Faculty.

* In addition to the above sequence, the successful completion of HED400 Professional Experience in Engineering is required for the award of the above degree and can be taken at any stage of the course.

* Students have the option to do Industry-Based Learning (IBL) for six to 12 months in Year 3 Semester 2. A fee will apply for this option. IBL can be used to fulfil the requirements of HED400.


Malaysian students are required by the Ministry of Higher Education to successfully complete the Compulsory Subjects (Mata Pelajaran Wajib) prior to graduation.
