About the course

This broad-based course allows you to master the basic engineering principles underlying electrical and electronic engineering, with emphasis on electronic and microcontroller-based design, operation and control of electrical machines, power system generation and distribution, systems modelling, automation and control.

Students can complete the entire degree programme in Sarawak campus. Students will be able to transfer to Swinburne University of Technology, where the course is offered. Acceptance is subjected to academic merit and approval by the respective Faculty.

* In addition to the above sequence, the successful completion of HED400 Professional Experience in Engineering is required for the award of the above degree and can be taken at any stage of the course.

* Students have the option to do Industrial-Based Learning (IBL) for six to 12 months in Year 3 Semester 2. A fee will apply for this option. IBL can be used to fulfil the requirements of HED400.


Malaysian students are required by the Ministry of Higher Education to successfully complete the Compulsory Subjects (Mata Pelajaran Wajib) prior to graduation.
