About the course

Course Description:

This program equips you for further studies across a range of science-and engineering-related areas such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, biotechnology, photonics, or telecommunication and internet technologies. It will allow you to develop fundamental communication, IT and mathematics skills and to select foundation studies streams in areas such as physics, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and computer programming.

Course Structure:

The course provides a direct entry into Swinburne Sarawak degree programs for students who have completed SPM/‘O’ Levels or equivalent qualification.

MPW 1113 Bahasa Kebangsaan A (for those without credit in BM at SPM level)
MPW 1133 Malaysian Studies

MPW 1153 Moral Studies (for non-Muslims only)

It is a requirement by the Ministry of Higher Education that all Malaysian students studying in the Private Higher Education Institutions take the compulsory units (MPW) and pass as a prerequisite for the award of certificate, diploma and degree.

Malaysian students must take the MPW units in the Summer Term (January) of your Foundation year.

Pathways

For students who have completed SPM/‘O’ levels or equivalent qualification, this course program provides direct entry into the degree program in the Sarawak campus.

You can also progress into Bachelor degree programs in science, computer science and engineering at Hawthorn campus, if you complete the program with the required marks and prerequisite units.
