 Books location
All materials are classified by subject according to an
international classification system, the Dewey Decimal Classification Systems .
The Dewey Decimal System is a classification scheme for organising the library's
books on the shelves and Melvil Dewey created it in 1873. The system divides
knowledge into ten main classes, which are further subdivided decimally to form
a total of 1000 categories numbered 000-999. All books are assigned with a call
number in accordance to their relationship to one another, thus you will find
that books on the same subject will be filed close to each other on the shelf.

Colour Coding
The books in the
library are color-coded and arranged by subject categories for easy
retrieval. This feature will help you and the library staff to
access the books in a fast, effective and efficient manner.
Call number
Every material in
the library is assigned a unique number, which is used to locate the
book. You can consider it as the book's address. Call numbers are
assigned according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Systems.
If you
wish to locate a book, and do not know its call number you can
look it up using our online access public catalog, or you can ask
a librarian in Information Desk.
