Circulation and Your library account
Counter
staff is available to help users with all procedures related to
checking out and returning items. In addition, Circulation is
responsible for shelving, locating missing items, and recalling
items checked out to other users, among many other things.
Borrowing Privileges
All
Swinburne Sarawak staff and students are eligible to borrow
items and other materials from The Information Resources.

To borrow items at The Information Resources, you need to
become the member of the Librarynet.

your account in the Librarynet to allow you to borrow items |
Renewing Items
Users can renew their loan once. However, it
can only be renewed, provided that the specific item has not
been requested or reserved by another users and the return
date has not been exceeded. The renewal may be made in person,
emailing to the library staff or by telephone.
Checking Your Library Account
To access a list of items
that you currently have checked out, go to the
www.librarynet.com.my.
You can review your library account at any time from selecting
My Circulation
Transaction
button. To access this information, you will need to login
your User ID and password. Once you enter this information,
you will get a screen that lists your personal home page.
My Circulation Transaction
lists the items
that you currently have out of the library, your reserve
materials and any outstanding fines or fees.
It is
the responsibility of each borrower to know when their
materials are due. All materials you check out should have a
date due slip in the back pocket to remind you of this date.
Reserving Items
If
all the copies are on loan you can reserve the items via the
www.librarynet.com.my
by clicking
Reserve
button on the Item Status screen and follow the instructions.
Users need to login using their User ID and password.
Return of Materials
Borrowers
must return their loans when due either by returning them to
the Circulation Counter or through the Book Return Chute that
is available in front of the Circulation Counter.
Books
accompanied by diskettes or CDs cannot be returned through the
Book Return Chute.

All
fines for overdue items accrue to a maximum of RM30.00 per
item.
NOTE: Exam results will be withheld and students will be
ineligible to apply for any award from the University while any
item is still overdue or replacement costs or other charges
are still outstanding.

Discussion Rooms
The Information Resources has Discussion Rooms that
accommodate 4 - 6 users at any one time. The Discussion Rooms are available for use by the Swinburne
Sarawak Staff and Students only. Bookings for the use of the
rooms can be made at the Circulation Counter by filling in a
Discussion Room Request Form.

IT and Electronic Resources Section
This section currently consists of 40 networked PCs offering access to
the online resources and databases available at
Swinburne University of
Technology, Internet access, Office Software and CD-ROM
services. All of the databases are accessible via the SUTS
website.

Reprography Services
The
Information Resources provides copy services for library users
and staff at a nominal cost. All of the photocopy machines are
operated by the magnetic card and the card can be purchased from
the Circulation Counter.

Information Desk
The
Information Desk serves the Swinburne Sarawak community by
providing assistance with all levels of general and
research-related information needs. The Information Desk is
staffed during the following hours while classes are in session:
Monday - Friday: 10am - 12pm & 2pm - 4pm
The
librarian at the information desk will be able to give users:

Instruction in identifying and using online databases
searching

Subject guides on finding and using materials
-
Library instruction and research consultation

Interlibrary Loan
This
service supports research and course-related activity of members
of the Swinburne Sarawak community by obtaining photocopies and
short-term loans of materials that are not available in The
Information Resources.
