Lab locations and computer availability
Students can access the computers in these labs to assist them with their studies.

Open Access Rules and Regulations
- Electronic workstations (except for library catalogue workstations) may only be used by current Swinburne students and staff.
- Swinburne identity card must be presented on request.
- Swinburne computing facilities may only be used for the legitimate educational, research and administrative purposes of Swinburne.
- All other use is forbidden.
The following rules apply to all of Swinburne computer labs:
- Students must abide by licence requirements of any software or resources they use on the workstations.
- Unless otherwise permitted by the Copyright Act, unauthorised copying or public performance of works or audiovisual material is prohibited. The University does not authorise students to make copies or deal with copyright material without permission of the copyright owner. This includes MP3 files.
- Damaging equipment, altering software settings or installing software on the workstations is forbidden.
- No tampering/ form feeding of the printers in the library.
- No eating or drinking (all food and drink to be kept in bag)
- No offensive pictures
- No games (computer games, including IRC, playing with sporting goods, etc)
- No unlicensed or illicit software
- Students must also abide by the laboratory rules shown on booking sheets, computer screens or notices near the workstations
- Video surveillance operates in all open access computer laboratories.
Anyone found in breach of these rules will be removed from the lab.
Any acts of vandalism and/or theft will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
WARNING: It is a criminal offence to:
- Obtain access to data without authority.
- Damage, delete, alter or insert data without authority.
Open Access Printing Services
- Black and white printing is available. Payment for printing is by Library copy card.
Open Labs Opening hours
Monday to Sunday: 8:00am to 12 midnight
Public Holiday: Closed
Note: Open Lab may be closed on weekend, as and when needed, for maintenance.
