Wireless Technology
ITShas put into service a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Swinwifi, covering parts of Swinburne main building. This allows access to the following:
- Internet and Intranet services.
- Novell services
- Library resources
Wireless access units will provide connectivity between mobile computers fitted with wireless network interface cards and the University's network. This means that when the wireless user requires access to the network they simply turn on their computers anytime, anywhere on campus within the wireless coverage area.
A software called XpressConnect is required for Swinwifi connection.
