The Effectiveness of Competencies on Job Performance
Generally, competencies can be summarise as the measures of job performances that combines people’s knowledge, skill, attitude and behaviour that enables a person to perform assigned tasks and roles, and also sustained success in the organization. Many studies have been identified that competencies were an important aspects of performance. This research was aim to identify the effectiveness of competencies on job performance. Three competencies such as communication skill, problem solving and decision making skill, and workplace relation were selected to measures job performance. There are two objectives in this research; firstly, was to investigates the relationship of competencies on job performance and secondly purposely to determine the most relevant of competency for employee to perform effectively.

The questionnaire as collected method data was used and distributed personally to the respondents from six selected departments in Bangunan Majma’ Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah and Bangunan Mahkamah Syariah Kuching. The data were analyzed using the statistical software SPSS version 20 and SmartPLS. The findings of SmartPLS path model analysis showed two important findings; first, the relationship between communication competency and workplace relation were positively and significantly correlated with job performance. Secondly, the relationship between problem solving and decision making was negatively and insignificantly correlated with job performance.

These findings confirm that the workplace relation and communication competencies were act as important independent variable in the relationship between competencies and job performance in the organizational sample. Lastly, the workplace relation was the most relevant of competency for employee in selected departments can perform effectively. This study was including a discussion, implication and conclusion.
