Understanding the effects of Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation on Organisational Commitment through a Gift giving Perspective
Motivation is essential to motivate employees committed to the organisation. It is crucial for management team to understand how motivation works and help to motivate the employees. The purpose of this paper is to find out when the motivation is giving in gift perspective, does it still motivate employees committed to the organisations. This study will be conducted in quantitative method that questionnaire will be distributed to sample of Kuching working adults. From the finding, the results indicated that the gift giving do motivated employees committed to the organisation but limited to intrinsic gift and human-based gift. The results do help the management to redesign their motivation scheme in organisation that can fulfil employees’ need and at the same time effectively motivate employees and increase their organisational commitment.
