Work Experience

Dayang Zarina Abang Ismail has worked as a Librarian with The British Council Library and The Sarawak Information Resource Centre, Chief Minister's Office in Kuching. Prior to working with Swinburne Institute of Technology she was a Media Librarian at the Centre for Academic Information Services, University Malaysia of Sarawak.

Zarina is the Secretary of the Librarian Association of Malaysia, Sarawak Chapter. The Association gives her a great opportunity to work with other professionals in Sarawak. She likes to work with young adults, helping them to better understand what libraries have to offer to the community, and strive to help others to utilize the library's resources in their everyday decision-making process. She believes that libraries and librarian can make a difference by enhancing learning and ensuring open access to information for all.

Research Interests

The use of new technology within the library setting and Information Literacy.
