Work Experience

Biju Issac's career started in 1995 as a project assistant (C programmer) in the Department of Instrumentation, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India where he worked with a Tomography research team. Later he shifted his focus into a teaching career and as a senior faculty, he was involved with IBM's Education center, India - teaching Operating systems, Language processors, Object oriented programming and Lotus Notes. He got involved in system administration then, working with AIX UNIX, LINUX and Windows NT.

In 1998, he moved into Madras Christian College, under the University of Madras, India as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science where he taught subjects at Master's degree level - like Computer Networks and Java (Core & Advanced) programming, JavaScript, Digital Logic, COBOL/C programming and UNIX. He was also entrusted with the responsibility of the system administration of College's Computer Center which primarily housed 3 server types - Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Novel Netware Server and Red Hat Linux Server. He guided various commercial student projects in Java, Lotus Notes & Visual C++/Basic. After 4 years of fruitful service, in 2002 he joined College Sarawak, Kuching, Malaysia as a lecturer in the School of Computing and IT, handling the University of Wollongong (Australia) degree subjects like Internet Technology (TCP/IP), Unix system administration, Java programming and Internet, C++ with data structures etc. Also, he helped install a Linux Lab and conducted workshops/seminars on networking.

After having a rewarding time, he moved into Swinburne Sarawak to occupy his current position in April 2004, with an interest to pursue research in Computer Networks and Security. He has currently enrolled for part-time PhD (Networking and Mobile Communication).
