Work Experience
Victoria Kuan is a Senior Lecturer in Media and User Experience Design,
she completed her MA in Design (Interactive Media) in Middlesex
University, UK in 1998.
She was the pioneer coordinator to set up the Multimedia department and
contributed in administering the Multimedia Undergraduate and Postgraduate
Programs from Hawthorn Campus, from 2005 to 2006. Prior to joining
Swinburne, Victoria taught in LimKokWing Institute of Creative Technology
(now known as LimKokWing University of Creative Technology), from 1999 to
2003.
Victoria is a professional Advertising Communication strategist, a
Design consultant. Her professional experience with the industries
includes e-Branding, design promotions and events management, web portals
management and e-Solutions. Her recent work includes consultancy with a
local organisation, developing an interactive DVD application as an
applicable business solution to promote the company's business, product
and services.
She is the chief consultant who drives the creative and product
development team that consists of five members. The working team includes
SUTS' recent postgraduate multimedia students, local technical video
specialist and top notch Audio-visual media professional team from Kuala
Lumpur.
Research & Scholarship Interests
Victoria's work is always concerned with Media, Technology and Society.
Interaction design and the audience's presence and interactions with
the medium have always been her focus in all her professional career since
1995.
Her work has a particular emphasis on the objectives of creating
meaning and design values by providing an excellent media form to the
audience especially within a mediated environment.
Victoria is currently researching the development of modern design theory
in conjunction with innovations in the emergence of today's media as it
relates to audience presence, on-line space and interactive environment.
