Work Experience

Gregory was attached to the Cinematography Program, Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak for about 10 years. He joined UNIMAS in 1995 during its early formative years, and went on to obtain his MA in Film from Northwestern University in Illinois, USA in 1997.

In UNIMAS, he served as Head/Coordinator of Cinematography Program from 1997-2003. In 2002, he organized the Sarawak Millennium Film Festival which was a platform for the new wave filmmaking community to discuss their common problems and to showcase their work from South East Asia.

 
Research & Scholarship Interests

Currently, Gregory is doing his research and PhD in film funding within the context of identity, national cinema and industry.

His interests also include the study of visual language and narration in various mediums such as film, animation and comics.
