Competency Based Human Resource Management

MEF Academy is a certified partner of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak. MEF Academy is the training and education branch of the Malaysian Employers Federation’s (MEF), bringing together the employer/employment market, the education industry as well as the individual/human resource development needs of employees all over the country.

This programme (HRDF SBL/SBL-KHAS Scheme claimable) is designed to enhance your capabilities in the areas of competency modelling and performance initiative management in your organisations. You will be guided through a mix of comprehensive and specific organisation-based research assignments and formal examinations.

Upon completion, you will receive a Certificate in Competency Based Human Resource Management from Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak and MEF Academy.

Course objectives

Upon completion of the programme, you will be able to:

  • Define competencies, describe their history and explain their roles in human resources and the organisation.
  • Analyse the main components of a competency and the differences between each.
  • Design and produce a competency framework and model by extracting competencies from business plans.
  • Apply competencies in the recruitment and selection processes.
  • Use competencies to assess training needs, identify talent pools and produce succession plans.
  • Utilise competencies and behavioural indicators in performance appraisal systems.

You will be required to attend all 2 days of the programme, which focus on specific skillsets related to Human Resource Management. The topics covered during the programme include:

Years of work experience in the Hospitality and Education Industry has given him sound knowledge in Employee Relations especially in employee Performance Competencies and Customer Service. Entry requirements

To be eligible for this course, you need to be a Human Resource practitioner with experience in all Human Resource functions.

As the main language of instruction is English, you will also be required to be proficient in the language.
