Aims and learning outcomes

This unit is designed to equip students with the essential skills to implement applied machine learning projects. In addition to providing the basic theories of machine learning, this unit focuses primarily on techniques and methods used in real-world application.

Students who successfully complete this unit should be able to:

  1. Explain machine learning life cycle
  2. Use appropriate data engineering techniques for data preparation
  3. Analyse and apply advanced machine learning algorithms to solve real-world problems
  4. Evaluate, deploy and optimise machine learning project outcomes to domain specific users
  5. Identify the current Business Intelligence applications in the market
  6. Interpret and effectively communicate machine learning project outcomes to domain specific users
