Invited Talk on Sarawak Alternative Rural Electrification – Renewable Solar Energy

Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science together with SUTS IChemE Student Chapter organised an invited talk of “Sarawak Alternative Rural Electrification (SARES) – Renewable Solar Energy” on 12 April 2021 (Monday) 10:00 am – 11:30 am through Microsoft Teams. Mr Zachary Bin Daleng from Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) delivered the talk with support from Mr Christopher Wesley Ajan, Manager Rural Electrification. Two faculty staff and approximately 30 Swinburne University students attended the talk from various programmes, such as Chemical, Mechanical, R&M, E&E and Civil Engineering.

The event started with a welcome address by Dr. Elaine. The Guest Speaker was introduced, after which Mr. Zachary took to the stage and started with the lecture. Mr. Zachary begins his lecture with a brief introduction about SARES, Solar Energy, and Community Based Solar Scheme.

Through this guest lecture, students learned the followings:
