Student Final Year Research Project Conference held virtually for Semester 2, 2021

KUCHING – Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus’ Student Final Year Research Project (FYRP) Conference for the second semester this year was held virtually on 2 December.

The FYRP Conference, which was started in 2015, is usually held in the final week of a semester, twice a year. The event provides an opportunity for the university to explore further collaborations and to strengthen ties with industry partners.

The event on 2 December was the third online conference held since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The virtual conference was an exciting showcase of the final year students’ year-long research projects, which are essential for their professional career preparation.

The conference started at 9am on Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) with the Dean’s opening address by Professor Su Hieng Tiong, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, Swinburne Sarawak.

This was followed by the plenary session on ‘Digital Academy & Exploration and Production (E&P) Training Programmes in Oil and Gas’ by the Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak Sdn Bhd (CENTEXS) before the commencement of the students’ oral presentations and the showcase of their projects.
