Machine Workshop E003

machine-lab-thumb

The workshop provides support for the fabrication of simple components and specimens required for experiments and student projects. Students in Civil, Mechanical, Robotic and Mechatronics Engineering will be exposed to the handling and operation of the basic lathe, milling machine, pedestal drill, hand tools, welding set, grinding and polishing machine, etc during the course of their study. These help students to understand the basic skill of controlling and the applications of the machines in this workshop.

Grinding and Polishing Machine

Students will learn how to use the machine to produce flat and fine surfaces by means of high-speed rotating abrasive wheel. The process can also produce a more accurate finish to a component already machined.

MIG Welding Set

Students can understand the basic welding processes through the operation of this equipment.

Milling Machine

Students can use this machine for the shaping of metal and other solid materials. It can be used to produce high quality flat planes and slots.

Pedestal Drill

Students can use the machine to drill straight holes in various materials.

Experiments

  • Practices of the machines in this workshop.
  • Accomplishments of the students’ course experiments and projects by using the machines in this workshop.
