Senior Lecturer (PhD) – Early Childhood Education [fixed-term contract]

Successful candidate will be expected to convene and teach undergraduate units of study in the School of Design and Arts in academic disciplines of education, specialising in early childhood education. Specialisations in TESOL, Educational Leadership and Management, Educational Psychology and/or Education Technology may be considered.

The successful candidate must demonstrate extensive knowledge and expertise in early childhood pedagogy and research. Furthermore, the ability to teach a broad spectrum of education-related subjects, including developmental psychology, curriculum design, special education, educational technologies, and pedagogical theories will be highly regarded. The appointed Senior Lecturer will lead by example, providing exceptional teaching and guidance in both established and innovative research methods as well as foster external engagement for the Early Childhood Education program and the university.

Requirements:
  • A PhD in Early Childhood Education or a related field is essential.
  • A Master’s degree in Education or related disciplines will be considered with extensive professional experience.
  • Proven experience in teaching higher education in Early Childhood Education or a relevant discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in educational theories, practices, and methodologies specific to early childhood development.
  • Additional expertise in educational technology, special education, curriculum design, or educational leadership will be an advantage.
  • A strong record of research in the field of Early Childhood Education.

Senior Lecturer (PhD) – International Business [fixed-term contract]

Successful candidates are expected to deliver courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels while carrying out impactful disciplinary research. In addition, the candidates are expected to lead ad hoc projects at the School or Faculty level.

Requirements:
  • PhD in international business, including global operation management, international business, supply chain, logistics management or related disciplines.
  • Candidates should possess a strong commitment to research and advancing their field of expertise, including supervising postgraduate studies and securing external research grants.
  • Demonstrated good research track record with publications in high-ranked journals, such as Scopus Q1 or ABDC A or A*-ranked journals.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Prior teaching experience, preferably in higher education settings, is advantageous.

Senior Lecturer (PhD) – Media and Communication [fixed-term contract]

Successful candidate will be expected to create, deliver, and manage undergraduate study units in the School of Design and Arts in academic disciplines related to social media, media analytics, journalism and their research expertise. Additionally, the capacity to instruct a wide range of communication subjects including media production, digital publishing, advertising, media theory, communication, and visual communication will be beneficial. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership in both traditional and non-traditional teaching methods, research, as well as facilitate external engagement for the School of Design and Arts and the university as a whole.

Requirements:
  • A PhD in Media Studies; Communication Studies; Journalism; or related disciplines is essential.
  • A Master’s degree in Media or Communication or related disciplines will be considered with extensive professional experience.
  • Knowledge in digital communication, journalism, social media and media analytics is essential.
  • Expertise in media production, digital publishing, advertising, media theory, or visual communication will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in teaching in higher education in a relevant discipline.

Successful candidates will be expected to convene and teach undergraduate units of study in the School of Design and Arts in academic disciplines related to 3D modelling & animation and motion graphics in Multimedia Design and their research expertise. In addition, the ability to teach a wide range of design subjects including web design, traditional and digital publishing, branding, experiential design, photography and image production will be an added advantage. The successful candidate(s) shall provide leadership in teaching, both traditional and non-traditional research as well as external engagement for Multimedia Design and university as a whole.

Requirements
  • Master in Creative Media Technology; Visual Communication & Media; Multimedia Design or related disciplines.
  • PhD degree will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in 3D modelling, animation, motion graphics is essential.
  • Knowledge in web design, traditional and digital publishing, branding, experiential design, photography or image production will be an added advantage.

Professor – Chemical Engineering [fixed-term contract]

For the Chemical Engineering position at the School of Engineering and Science, we seek candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and an outstanding research record. We invite applications for a Professor position in chemical engineering with a strong link to catalysis. As a chemical engineering Professor, the successful candidate is expected to initiate and develop a creative research and teaching program at the forefront of the discipline. The successful applicant will be expected to play an important role to achieve goals of the Department, namely contributing to research, teaching and leadership. The search includes all areas but priority will be given to candidates with:

Requirements:
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Registration with a professional body such as Board of Engineers Malaysia is required.
  • Industrial experience and/or professional qualification (CEng, PEng, CPEng) would be an added advantage.
  • Documented and solid track record in heterogeneous catalysis and reaction kinetics, preferably with a strong background in chemical reaction engineering, and materials related to alternative energy.
