Biography

After returning from abroad, Almon worked for a couple of years in the ceramics manufacturing industry as a maintenance engineer. His work scope covered both preventive and corrective maintenance for the manufacturing production lines. During that time, Almon discovered that energy conservation could be performed on a certain section of the manufacturing facility which involved drying by kilns. It is due to his interest in this matter further research was pursued. Almon commenced his doctoral research onto the drying of ceramics via means of computational simulations and completed in 2007.

Almon now has research interests in computational simulations, drying technology such as solar, forced and mixed-mode, mesh generation and mesh type. He also has interests in robotics and mechatronics systems, human factors in engineering, technologies applicable to human performance and simulations on systems optimization.
