Biography

Ir. Dr. Charlie Sia received his BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (Material) from College University Technology Tun Hussein Onn, Malaysia in 2006 received his MEng in Mechanical Engineering from University Malaysia Sarawak, Malaysia in 2009. Charlie Sia joined the School of Engineering, Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus) (SUTS) as a Lecturer in 2010. In October 2011, he continued his studies at Kobe University, Japan, and he was successfully received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Kobe University in 2014. After completing his doctorate, Dr. Charlie rejoined Swinburne in October 2014. His current research interests include fracture mechanics of composite materials, fire dynamics simulations, heat, ventilation and air conditioning optimization. He is a CEng member of IMechE. He and his university partners are actively exploring the development of interactive teaching approaches to improve the student learning experience. He currently teaches Structural Mechanics, Solid Mechanics and Machine Design at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus.
