Biography

Ir. Dr. Liew graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, in 2004. She worked as a Civil Engineering Design Consultant and Site Engineer for four (4) years prior to her PhD studies. She was conferred Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS), in 2012 where she received Best Paper Award for her thesis proposal entitled ““A Novel Approach, Using Regional Climate Model, to Derive Present and Future IDF Curves for Data Scarce Sites”. The award is given out biennial to recognize high quality contribution and to encourage presentation of results on hydraulic and water resources research.

Ir. Dr. Liew was a Research Fellow with Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI), National University of Singapore (NUS) for 2 years before she decided to come back to Sarawak in 2014. In recognition of her works, she has been engaged as an Independent Consultant by Tropical Marine Science Institute, National University of Singapore to provide necessary experience, expertise and services to NUS.
