Biography

Dr. Bazlul Mobin has obtained his Bachelor and Master of Science in chemistry. He  achieved his PhD from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2012. His research area was Environmental Technology. The thesis tile for this PhD was the phyysico-chemical properties of palm oil blended with other vegetable oils. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) at the faculty of chemical engineering, where he was appointed as a tutor for functional food course. He worked on supercritical fluid extraction of medicinal extracts from plant and nuts. He also worked on functional food ingredients. He joined Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, Computing, and Science in September 2013.

  • Hydrogel and polymeric adsorbent
  • Fats and oil;
  • Supercritical fluid extraction technique for environment and food application;
  • Nanoencapsulation for functional food ingredients;

  • Title of Project: Extraction of cellulose nanofiber from banana waste and incorporation of it into cellulose based biofilm for improved mechanical properties and potential antimicrobial effect. (FRGS grant 2020)
  • Title of project: A Study of the Effect of Increased Hydrophobicity via Free Radical Graft Polymerization Produced through Microwave Irradiation on the Interfacial Enhancement of Wood Polymer Composites. (FRGS grant 2020)
