Dr. Then was born in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia in 1988. He received the B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical engineering in 2012 and Ph.D. in Electrical engineering in 2015. He is a registered Professional Engineer (Electrical) with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a professional technologist with Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). Besides, he is a trained chartered engineer under Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET UK). Dr. Then has high research competence. He has won several funding from government and university to conduct impactful research. His research areas involve smart power management, green technology, instrumentation of electromagnetic wave propagation at microwave frequencies, development of microwave sensors for agricultural applications and rural connectivity. Dr. Then is the recipient of Swinburne’s Vice Chancellor Award (Community Engagement) and Early Career Research Award (Highly Commended) in 2019.
