Dr. Melvin Wee is currently a Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology. He is a young researcher and Chemical Engineer specializing in sustainable energy systems, low-carbon technologies, and advanced materials for environmental applications. He completed his research fellowship at the National University of Singapore (NUS) focused on hydrogen production technologies under the Low Carbon Energy Research (LCER) funding initiative. Prior to this, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak, under the supervision of Prof. Jaka Sunarso, where his research focused on the application of membranes for CO₂ capture and utilization.
Before dedicating himself to full-time research, he gained valuable industry experience as a Process Engineer at LONGi Solar (2019–2020). Academically, he holds a PhD from Curtin University Malaysia (2024), where his doctoral research focused on the thermal conversion of biomass and plastic wastes into biofuel. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical) (Hons) from Swinburne University of Technology in 2019.
