Dr. Khalid Farooq is a Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Business, Design and Arts at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak, Malaysia. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), where his research focused on the antecedents and outcomes of employee ecological behavior in Malaysian higher education institutions. His academic journey also includes a Master of Science and an MBA in Human Resource Management, along with a Bachelor of Commerce.
Dr. Khalid is an accomplished researcher with a strong portfolio in Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM), Sustainability, Employee well-being and organizational behavior. He has published extensively in high-impact journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, including Business Strategy and the Environment, Benchmarking: An International Journal, and Social Responsibility Journal. His work has earned him multiple accolades, such as Best Publication Award, Innovation Competition Award, and several Best Paper Awards at international conferences.
He has successfully secured research grants exceeding RM150,000, focusing on green workplace initiatives, Employee well-being and the integration of artificial intelligence in HRM. Dr. Khalid also serves as the editorial board member for leading journals in his field.
Beyond academia, Dr. Khalid is actively engaged in social impact initiatives. He initiated a free private school under a public–private partnership (PPP) model in a rural area of Mianwali, Pakistan, with a strong focus on promoting girls’ education and improving access to quality schooling in underserved communities.
