Biography

Dr. Jenny Choo received her BSc (Hons) in Resource Biotechnology at University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in 2011 and MSc (Research) in Biotechnology in 2015 at Swinburne Sarawak. She received her Ph.D. at Swinburne Sarawak in 2024. Her research interest focuses on leveraging digital technologies, particularly satellite-based Earth Observation tools, with integration of machine and deep learning approaches, to explore the changes and predictions on the environment (water, land & air systems).

Prior to her Ph.D. study, she worked in the industry sector for several years, leading Greenhouse Gas (GHG) / Carbon research and monitoring activities at hydropower reservoirs in Sarawak, Malaysia. Upon completing her Ph.D., she served as a postdoctoral fellow and part-time lecturer at the same university, conducting research in environmental biogeochemistry and remote sensing, in partnership with CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation), Australia.

She joined Swinburne Sarawak as a Lecturer in the School of Foundation Studies in March 2026.
