Dr. Frederick Jit Fook Phang is a Postdoctoral Researcher currently contracted within the Research Centre for Sustainable Technologies (CST) at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus (SUTS). His research focuses on hydrogen and biomass energy, while simultaneously working to introduce electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (CO2RR) capabilities to the Materials for Hydrogen and Biomass (MAT-H2B) research group. He completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from SUTS in 2025, with a thesis titled ‘Acid catalytic wet torrefaction of oil palm biomass: Reaction mechanisms and application evaluations’. Complementing his doctoral timeline at SUTS, his academic journey includes valuable experience gained across different institutes (Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and University of Nottingham Malaysia) during his postgraduate training. Prior to his doctoral studies, he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from SUTS in 2020.
