Biasiswa Pinjaman Pelajaran Yayasan Sarawak

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Yayasan Sarawak Study Loan, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Sarawakian status: At least one parent must be a Sarawakian.

    • Citizenship: Must be a Malaysian citizen.

    • Age limit:

      1. Not exceeding 45 years old for Bachelor’s degree studies.

      2. Not exceeding 50 years old for Master’s and PhD studies.

    • Mode of study: Must be pursuing full-time studies (not through Distance Learning mode).

    • Sponsorship: Must not be receiving any other sponsorship.

    • Bahasa Melayu requirement: Must obtain credit in the Bahasa Melayu subject in the SPM or an equivalent examination, as follows:

      1. At least a Grade C in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM); or

      2. At least a Grade C in the General Certificate of Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level); or

      3. At least a Grade B6 in the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).

    • Guarantors: Two (2) guarantors with permanent jobs and below 60 years old.

    • Loan repayment: Begins 12 months after graduation.

    • Offer letter: Must have received an Offer Letter from Swinburne Sarawak.

    • Other conditions: Subject to terms and conditions stipulated by Yayasan Sarawak.


    Application Process

    Step 1: Register for a Yayasan Sarawak account and upload a copy of your IC on the Yayasan Sarawak website.

    Step 2: After registration, apply for Skim Biasiswa Pinjaman Pelajaran Dalam Negara and upload the required documents:

    • Offer Letter from Swinburne University of Technology
    • PTPTN Offer Letter (if applicable)
    • BP40 Preliminary Letter (if applicable)
    • Both parents’ latest payslips (if applicable)
    • Guarantors’ latest payslips (if parents are not the guarantors)
    • Income tax form / Government pensioner slip / Verified letter if parents are not working
    • SPM certificate
    • Applicant’s Birth Certificate
    • Applicant’s IC (Front & Back)
    • Parents’ IC (Front & Back)
    • Guarantors’ IC (Front & Back)
    • Parents’ Death Certificate (if applicable)
    • Parents’ Divorce Certificate (if applicable)
    • Applicant’s bank account details

      Step 3: Submit proof of your online application (Student Interactive System page) to the Financial Advisory team at [email protected] or via Servicedesk.

      Step 4: Yayasan Sarawak will notify students of approval via their online portal, and the loan documents will be emailed to the students.

      Step 5: Print and submit the required documents as per Yayasan Sarawak’s email instructions to the Financial Advisory team at StudentHQ, Counter 11 OR submit directly to Yayasan Sarawak. If submitting directly, students must inform the Financial Advisory team by email at [email protected] for record purposes.

      Step 6: The first payment will be issued upon receipt of the loan documents to Yayasan Sarawak.

      Note: All applications are subject to Yayasan Sarawak’s approval and discretion. Applications are verified and assessed by Yayasan Sarawak. They may request additional documents or clarifications, check your email regularly.

      Yayasan Sarawak BP40 Bursary Scheme

      Swinburne Sarawak, in collaboration with Yayasan Sarawak, offers a special bursary scheme for eligible Sarawakian Bumiputera students (limited to 100 recipients only) who enrol into its program of studies.

      Criteria

      1. For Sarawakian Bumiputera only (For those with mixed parentage, the applicant’s Birth Certificate must state their Bumiputera race. Otherwise, a Bumiputera declaration certificate may be applied and obtained at any District Office in Sarawak)
      2. For students whose household income is within the B40 and M40 categories. Priority will be given to B40 applicants.
      3. Must have accepted study offer and received Offer Letter from Swinburne Sarawak / Articulation Letter (for current students).
      4. It is mandatory to obtain a credit in Bahasa Melayu subject in the SPM examination or an equivalent examination as follows:
        1. Obtained at least a Grade C for the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM)
        2. Obtained at least a Grade C for the General Certificate of Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level).
        3. Obtained at least a Grade B6 for the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).
