Five interns awarded at the 3rd FECS Virtual Mini Research Symposium

In line with the university’s growing need in research and in nurturing future postgraduate researchers, the Faculty Research Committee (FRC) at Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Science (FECS) hosted a Mini Symposium of the 3rd Research Internship Award on 12th September 2020.

The internship was held for two months, starting from July until September, and concluded with a Mini Symposium. Five interns, Clement Sim Jun Wen, Elaine Wong Wen Rou, Melissa Chin Wen Wen, Sung Yun Ping and Tang Ming Fei, were honoured in recognition of their merits in outstanding research and academic performances. At the conclusion of the symposium, Clement Sim was awarded the Best Presenter among the interns.

Five different projects of various nature, including “Computed aided drug discovery for SARS-COV-2”, “Lung disease classification using deep learning”, “Wastewater treatment with intermittent aeration”, “Smart logistic” and “Bio-hydrogen supply network” were presented at the symposium.

Let us congratulate all the interns and look forward to nurturing another round of future researchers.
