Industry-engaged learning

Gaining Real Industry Experience

At Swinburne, every learner gets a work experience. At the Faculty of Business, Design and Arts, we will help you kickstart your career of choice through Swinburne’s highly regarded work integrated learning (“WIL”).  Swinburne’s WIL include our Work Integrated Learning Placement units, industry-linked projects and/or internships where students have the opportunity to engage with our industry partners.

Hence, you will have the opportunity to work alongside leading employers in your area of study where you may receive credit points towards your degree, enhancing your technical and soft skills, developing your professional skills while immersing yourself in a work integrated learning placement unit, an industry-linked project, and/or an internship.

Industry Partners and External Engagement Collaborations

At Swinburne, it is our vision to provide all students, across all degrees, a series of scaffolded, inter disciplinary WIL experience. We regularly partner with organisations to create outcomes of intellectual, financial and/or social value. This includes research partnerships, schools’ programs, placements and internships, workforce training, short-term consultancy projects (capstones) and/or social or entrepreneurship related activities.
