Exclusive talks and more at Swinburne Sarawak’s Open Day on 23 March

KUCHING – Students seeking to pursue their higher education should join Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus’ Open Day this Saturday, 23 March 2024, to find out more about getting a world-class Australian education at a fraction of the cost.

Open to all members of the public, the event will be held from 10am to 4pm at Swinburne Sarawak’s campus along Jalan Simpang Tiga.

The Open Day is a prime opportunity for visitors to discover all that the next-generation university offers, from globally-ranked courses to modern facilities, scholarships, work-integrated learning, exchange and transfer options, a vibrant student experience and much more.

Prospective students and parents visiting the Open Day will be able to connect with the university’s education counsellors and academic experts for personalised counselling. A wide range of programs in various fields of study are offered by the university, including business, computing, design, engineering, quantity surveying, science, arts, media and education.

With regard to scholarships and financial aid, students and parents will be able to learn more about internal merit scholarships offered by Swinburne Sarawak at different levels of study in addition to those offered by external providers.

Visitors can catch exclusive talk sessions on scholarships, bursaries, study loans and financial aid delivered by representatives from Yayasan Sarawak and Sarawak Energy Berhad. There will also be insightful sharing sessions by alumni of Swinburne Sarawak. Furthermore, students can gain a better understanding of study options by tuning in to pathway talks presented by the university’s academics. 

Another highlight of the Open Day is the chance to connect with current students and take guided tours of the campus, allowing visitors to get a feel for life as a Swinburne Sarawak student. Besides viewing the university’s existing facilities up close and in person, students can catch a glimpse of the highly anticipated campus upgrades being carried out. These upgrades are aimed at enhancing the campus experience and providing students with a world-class teaching and learning environment.

Swinburne Sarawak will be receiving on-the-spot applications at the Open Day, and eligible students applying for admission will receive their Letter of Offer on the same day. To facilitate the application process, prospective students are advised to bring along a copy of their Malaysian identification card or certified copy of their passport, as well as academic transcripts and certificates (SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level, A-Level and so on).

The Open Day will also feature a variety of external vendors with diverse offerings, including food and beverages, clothing, accessories, artistic products and more.

Among the anticipated vendors are Kuching Autistic Association (KAA), Brew Coffee Bakery, Three Tea, Le Atelier, Sluvi, Eureka x Dnas, Margaret Nail Studio, Jabing Studio, Elly Loe Collection, Omok.co, Daisy Dalia and Babyygohenna.

Food trucks are also expected to make an appearance at the event, including Vanillapong, King Kojack, Sushi Chef on Wheels, Swee Kang Ais Kacang, Kopi Hainan and d-FRentz.
