Explore your future at Swinburne Sarawak’s Open Day on 6 May

KUCHING – Students seeking to further their studies can visit Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus’ Open Day on 6 May 2023 to learn more about gaining an affordable world-class Australian tertiary education closer to home.

The Open Day will be held at Swinburne’s Kuching campus at Jalan Simpang Tiga from 10am to 4pm. The event is open to members of the public, especially SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level and UEC school-leavers.

Prospective students and their families are highly encouraged to visit the Open Day to explore all aspects of Swinburne Sarawak – the next gen_uni which offers globally-ranked courses, work integrated learning, modern facilities, exchange and transfer options as well as a vibrant student experience.

Students will have the opportunity to meet directly with the university’s academics from the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, Faculty of Business, Design and Arts and School of Foundation Studies to find out more about the various courses and their career prospects.

They can also chat with education counsellors about scholarships, financial assistance, study pathways, campus facilities, accommodation and more. In addition, students can take a career personality test to gain advice on courses that match their interests, strengths and aspirations.

Visitors can also enquire about the university’s newly introduced courses, including the Diploma of Digital Media Design, Diploma of Information Technology and Diploma of Early Childhood Education.

With regard to scholarships and financial assistance, visitors will be able to explore not only Swinburne Sarawak’s internal scholarships and bursaries but also options offered by external parties such as Yayasan Sarawak and Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN). The university offers a variety of scholarship and bursary opportunities at different levels of study.

At the Open Day, students will also get the chance to connect with current students and take guided tours around the campus. With this, they can get a taste of life as a Swinburne Sarawak student. During the campus tour, visitors can view the university’s facilities and the comprehensive campus upgrades being carried out in line with Swinburne’s long-term commitment to enhancing the campus experience for students.

The university will be receiving on-the-spot applications at the Open Day and eligible students applying for admission will receive their Letter of Offer on the same day. To facilitate the application process, prospective students should bring along a copy of their Malaysian identification card or certified copy of their passport, as well as academic transcripts and certificates (SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level, A-Level and so on). Trial results are accepted.

The university’s upcoming intake date for its foundation programs is on 3 July 2023 while its next intake for diploma and degree courses is on 4 September 2023.
