KUCHING – Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, in collaboration with the Bursa Young Investor Club (BYIC) Swinburne Sarawak, has launched the highly anticipated Young Investor Challenge (YIC) 2025, bringing together over 175 participants from 19 universities and colleges across Malaysia, Brunei, China, Vietnam, and Australia.
Guided by the theme “Investing for Tomorrow: Innovate, Sustain, Succeed”, the event highlights the importance of sustainable finance, cutting-edge investment tools, and strategic thinking. The competition challenges participants to test their capital market acumen in a high-energy Kahoot! quiz, followed by an intense “Pitch & Prosper” Grand Finale where top finalists will present solutions to real-world case studies.
In his opening address at the YIC2025 launch held online on 24 May 2025, Professor Dr Brian Wong Kee Mun, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Design, and Arts, said, “This event embodies Swinburne’s mission of combining people and technology to build a better world. YIC2025 provides students with invaluable hands-on experience, sharpening their understanding of financial products, ESG metrics, and sustainable investing practices.”
