Saberkas Sukan Karnival 2025 Futsal Competition Marks Grand Success

KUCHING – The much-anticipated Saberkas Sukan Karnival 2025 Futsal Competition concluded on 7 September 2025 with resounding success, drawing strong participation from futsal players across Kuching, which included participants from the Swinburne Sarawak Football Club. Organised by the Saberkas Swinburne Chapter in collaboration with the Swinburne Futsal Club, the tournament showcased the dynamism of youth, the spirit of sportsmanship, and the power of teamwork.

The competition attracted enthusiastic community support, and the event reinforced SABERKAS’s commitment to nurturing youth talent and strengthening unity through meaningful sporting initiatives.

The competition was graced by the Guest of Honour, YB Encik Safiee Ahmad, Secretary General of SABERKAS Headquarters, accompanied by Encik Iszuan Haironi, Secretary (Setiausaha Eksekutif) of Pertubuhan Belia Kebangsaan Bersatu Sarawak (SABERKAS Sarawak). Their presence reflected the organisation’s strong support for youth development through sports.

In his remarks, YB Encik Safiee Ahmad commended the organisers for their dedication, noting that “sport is more than just competition — it builds character, instils discipline, and unites communities. I am proud to see our young leaders taking the initiative to create such impactful platforms.”

After intense competition, BYFC emerged as champions after defeating ASZNOR G KITCHEN on penalties in a final game that ended in a draw after regular time. ASZNOR G KITCHEN claimed the runner-up position with a strong performance, while LION3 FT secured third place, completing the competition’s podium finishers.

Speaking after the competition, organiser Ngui Yong Jie, President of Saberkas Swinburne Chapter, expressed gratitude to all parties involved: “This event reflects the spirit of collaboration and community. We are deeply thankful to SABERKAS leaders, Swinburne Futsal Club, and all our volunteers for making this competition a memorable success.”

The tournament was organised by the Saberkas Swinburne Chapter, led by President Ngui Yong Jie, with the Swinburne Futsal Club serving as co-organiser under the leadership of President Syvelster Lim and Secretary Aaron Tiong.

The Saberkas Swinburne Chapter, guided by advisor Ms Noorazah Reduan, and the Swinburne Futsal Club, with guidance from advisor Mr Dzul Ihsan, demonstrated outstanding organisational capabilities throughout the event.

The Saberkas Sukan Karnival 2025 Futsal Competition not only provided an avenue for healthy competition but also reinforced the values of teamwork, perseverance, and youth empowerment — values that lie at the very heart of SABERKAS’s mission.

SABERKAS (Pertubuhan Belia Kebangsaan Bersatu) is Malaysia’s national youth organisation dedicated to developing leadership skills, promoting community service, and fostering unity among young Malaysians. The Sarawak chapter actively organises programs that combine character building with practical life skills development.
