Swinburne Sarawak to hold Info Day on Saturday

KUCHING – SPM and STPM school-leavers looking to pursue tertiary education are eligible for the Swinburne Sarawak Early Acceptance Waiver Schemes when they enroll into courses on Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus ‘Info Day’ from 10am to 5pm this Saturday.

The scheme will be given as a course or accommodation fee rebate to students who enrolls into its July and August intakes. Classes for the university’s foundation studies begin on 13 July while degree courses will start on 24 August.

Swinburne Sarawak offers a range of business, computing, design, engineering and science courses as well as English language. These are identical to those of its home campus in Melbourne, from which qualifications are also awarded. Most are accredited by professional bodies such as the Institution of Engineers Australia, Board of Engineers Malaysia and CPA Australia.

During Info Day, students and their parents will be able to consult academics from the university’s three faculties – Language and Foundation; Engineering, Computing and Science; and Business and Design – on courses, entry requirements, career prospects, program application and the like. Students who enroll on this day will have their application fee waived.

The university will also be organizing an Alumni Meet and Greet Session at 2:00pm on that day. The session will give parents, students and those keen to know more about student life at the Swinburne to speak to the alumni on their study experiences and to university representatives on courses offered.

Those undecided on the choice of program may take a quick aptitude test. This helps to determine their areas of interest. The result of the test enables counsellors to advise them on a range of suitable courses.

Apart from foundation and degree courses, graduates who are interested in postgraduate studies may consult with senior academics on these courses during Info Day.

The Swinburne Sarawak MBA International starts on 27 July while the intake for its MA (TESOL) program is 24 August.

Swinburne Sarawak is known for its quality education. It was awarded self-accrediting status by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). Since 2009, Swinburne Sarawak has been rated Tier: 5 Excellent status category in the biennial MQA Rating System for Malaysian Higher Education Institutions (SETARA).
