KUCHING – Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus has proudly launched its inaugural Industry X Day 2025, a flagship showcase that brought together students and industry leaders for a dynamic display of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
Held at Swinburne Sarawak on 4 December 2025, the event marked the university’s first dedicated industry-focused exhibition designed to highlight student capabilities while fostering meaningful engagement with real-world partners and professionals.

“At the School of Design and Arts, we are redefining the future of creative education. We’ve moved beyond industry-driven learning toward industry-linked education – a dynamic model that connects students directly with real projects, real partners, and real opportunities,” said Associate Professor Dr Predrag K Nikolic, Head of the School of Design and Arts at Swinburne Sarawak.
“Industry X Day brings this vision to life. It is a powerful platform where our students engage with industry leaders, showcase their talent, and build the connections that fast-track their entry into the job market. Together with our partners, we actively support the development of each student’s professional journey,” he added.
Jasmine Ng, Chair of Industry X Day 2025, said, “For the first time ever, our first cohort of graduating students from the Diploma in Digital Media Design program is exhibiting alongside their seniors from the Multimedia Design and Graphic Design degree programs. This is very exciting for me, having watched them grow since their very first semester here. I am very proud of them and how far they have come.
“To all our design students – graduating or not – please do not stop learning, exploring, dreaming, and designing. I know this may not be the easiest path, but I really hope you will continue your design journey, even after today,” she remarked.

Throughout the day, attendees explored interactive showcases, live demonstrations, informal sharing sessions, and student–industry conversations centred on design, technology, and the creative future of Sarawak. The event concluded with a networking session that brought together students, educators, industry leaders, and partners in a collaborative and open setting.
This inaugural event was made possible through the collaboration and support of key partners, including Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) as the strategic partner, Mango Media (China) as the international industry partner, and event sponsors Sharing Group and AM Global. Additional support came from Canon, JYW Distribution, and Song Pretty Bell, whose contributions strengthened the industry-linked foundation of the showcase and enhanced the opportunities available to students.
Industry X Day 2025 reinforced Swinburne Sarawak’s commitment to delivering industry-aligned education in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Digital Media Design, Media and Communication, and emerging technologies – demonstrating the university’s dedication to producing graduates who are ready to lead, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s creative and digital sectors.
