Swinburne Sarawak receives visit from JKR for its bio-cementation project

KUCHING – A team from Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) visited Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus to observe its ongoing research on bio-cementation.

The research is part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between JKR Research and Swinburne Sarawak signed in 2015 for the exchange and creation of knowledge on on construction on soft soil. In partnership with Bachy Soletanche, experts in geotechnical procedures. 

The tests are being carried out in a 10m3 trough on campus where the initial results have been encouraging and the strength of the hardened soil at different depths is being worked on.
