Postgraduate Research Society (PGRS) Annual General Meeting 2021
Following an annual general meeting on 3 February, for 2021 the Postgraduate Research Society (PGRS) is now led by President Jasman Chai Yi Hao, Vice-President Alfred Tan Jia Yee, Secretary Jonathan Cheng Lin Yang, Vice-Secretary Ally Lee, and Treasurer Liza Melia Anak Terry.
The society has since then held a number of virtual activities that included a “Welcoming party” on 25 February. This gave Higher Degree Research (HDR) students the opportunity to learn more about the society and its events, and interact with other HDR students.
Also organized was a mental health awareness sharing session on 23 March which served as a support platform for HDR students and offered strategies in coping with mental challenges in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Alumnus Dr Tay Jia Jun and Dr Fredrik Phangkawira shared their experience and insight during a talk entitled “Life in industry after postgraduate study”, on 7 April.
