Webinar: Understanding Nasopharyngeal Cancer
For the past many years, the biomedical research team led by A/P Dr. Hwang Siaw San has been collaborating with the Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness (SCAN), Kuching to host a ‘cancer-awareness day’ annually – in the past the team has focused on breast, lung and nasopharyngeal cancers.
Two years ago, the team had an additional event on HIV and AIDS awareness with the Infectious Diseases team at SGH.
This year – the team is co-organising a webinar (due to the pandemic) once again with SCAN – in conjunction with World Cancer Research Day focusing in on NPC. There will be three guest speakers – an ENT surgeon from SGH, a dietitian from SGH (as incidence of NPC has been closely-linked to a person’s diet) as well as an NPC researcher in Institute Medical Research, KL who did her PhD in Swinburne Sarawak.
