First Announcement and Call for Papers

 

2nd Swinburne Sarawak Postgraduate Research Conference (SSPRC)

Virtual Conference 

12 & 13 August 2021
8.30am – 5pm | Swinburne Sarawak

 

School of Research is pleased to announce the 2nd Swinburne Sarawak Postgraduate Research Conference (SSPRC), which will be held virtually on 12 & 13 August 2021 at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak via MS Teams.  Among the activities during this conference will be Keynote Speeches and the Best Paper and Best Poster Awards.

The main aim of the conference is to give HDR students:

  1. An opportunity to present a poster or a full paper,
  2. Develop a manuscript based on the full paper which can later be submitted to a journal of their choice,
  3. Learn from other presenters’ good practices,
  4. Network and learn what other HDR students are doing

 

Requirements:

* All Swinburne Sarawak HDR students are required to submit:

  • - at least One (1) Full Paper (16 pages maximum), if you have successfully completed the Confirmation of Candidature by 1st February 2021. 
  • - at least One (1) Poster, if you have not completed the Confirmation of Candidature (full paper submission is optional).     

* All Early Career Researchers are encouraged to submit the full papers to the conference.

* The full paper submission may be based on a manuscript template as attached. All the manuscripts will be peer-reviewed internally and English proofread service for final version of papers may be provided.

 

Important Dates:

Opening for Full Paper/Poster Submission 15 March 2021
Closing for Full Paper/Poster Submission 15 May 2021
Notification of Acceptance 01 July 2021
Final Camera-Ready Paper Submission 15 July 2021

 

Pre-conference Workshops

In addition, we have arranged a series of ONLINE via MS Teams pre-conference workshops open to all staff and compulsory to all HDR students. The pre-conference workshops provide participants with an opportunity to extend their knowledge and strengthen their skills in the area addressed by the workshop. These sessions will also provide additional time for interaction with participants and speakers.
