Jimmy Tjen was born in Pontianak, West Borneo, Indonesia, in 1992. He received his Bachelor of Science in physics in 2014, the joint M.Sc. degree in mathematics engineering from the Erasmus Mundus MATHMODS: mathematical modelling in engineering program in 2017 and the Ph.D. degree in informatics engineering from the Universita degli studi dell’Aquila, L’Aquila, Italy, in 2021. He was an informatics lecturer at Universitas Widya Dharma Pontianak, Pontianak since 2022 and he joined Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak as a lecturer in 2026.
His research interests include big data processing for business, control theory, data-driven approaches based on machine learning, and the application of machine learning in structural health monitoring.
