Ujian Penilaian Dual Language Programme S6 (UP DLP S6)
The Dual Language Programme (DLP) was introduced in Malaysia in 2016 under the Government’s Upholding the Malay Language and Strengthening the English Language (MBMMBI) policy. Taking a bold step forward, Sarawak expanded this initiative in 2020 by implementing the teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics in English across all national primary schools, beginning with Year 1 students.
Today, Sarawak stands as the only state in Malaysia to offer this approach on such a large scale. With national-type and religious primary schools also embracing English-medium instruction, a total of 1,047 schools across Sarawak will be teaching Science and Mathematics in English by 2025.
As students progress through their educational journey, the Unit Promosi Dual Language Programme (UPDLP) Sarawak serves as a trusted partner for students, parents, and schools. Through guidance, information, and educational support, UPDLP helps families make informed decisions and plan confidently for students’ academic and future career success in an increasingly globalised world.
