11th Asia Pacific Conference on Exercise and Sport Science (APCESS 2025)
APCESS is a biennial international conference that brings together educators, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in the fields of physical education, sports science, and health promotion. The theme of this year’s conference is “Active Living for a Healthier Asia-Pacific” which reflects our shared aspiration to strengthen knowledge and best practices in physical activity and well-being across the region.
The conference brings together keynote speakers, invited experts, symposium presenters, workshop facilitators, GCH Future Leaders, and delegates from around the world to share innovative research, exchange knowledge, and foster collaborative practices in exercise and sports science.
Conference Theme
Active Innovative Pathways and Collaborative Practices in Exercise and Sports Science for Holistic Health and Wellbeing. This theme aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG #3: Good Health and Well-Being; SDG #4: Quality Education), highlighting creative research approaches to improve health outcomes, encourage active lifestyles, and enhance sporting performance.

STEM Trailblazer Event Powered by Pi
In collaboration with Swinburne University of Technology, University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) and Curtin University of Technology, the Sarawak government has provided comprehensive training to over 1000 teachers in Sarawak in 2022 and will continue to upskill our teachers in 2023 and beyond.
This STEM Trailblazer Event Powered by Pi, in collaboration with our universities, is a celebration of our teachers and students, who have not only used Pi for learning, but have demonstrated their creativity and talent in developing new stimulating lessons for teaching and learning in and beyond the classroom. Furthermore, many have developed creative solutions to real world problems using Raspberry Pi.
STEM is at the heart of Sarawak’s push for to be a tech-rich state and is the key foundation to rural and urban development throughout the state. At this event, we wish to capture the wonders of STEM, to our students, teachers and members of the public alike. STEM can be fun, innovative and engaging for all and thus, at this event we are providing showcases from universities and industry partners, as well as showcases from our very own students to inspire our young students to pursue careers in STEM fields.

IAIA 2023 – Resilience Through Impact Assessment and Leadership
The combined crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, health and humanitarian catastrophes, and conflict have made clear that agility, transformation innovation, and leadership are key for sustainability and resilience. Global crisis is felt harder and the path to recovery is more challenging for vulnerable communities and ecosystems. No transitions is viable or sustainable without justice.
Impact assessment can inform and promote sustainable and fair decisions and processes. IAIA conference are where the critical mass of motivated professionals drives innovation and advancement in impact assessment.
Against this backdrop, IAIA23 calls for empirical and pragmatic contributions that showcase how impact assessments and leadership can accelerate transformation and sustain resilience in the world that requires immediate, impactful solutions. The rationale for this two call is twofold: 1) what gets assessed has the possibility to get leadership attention and 2) what get leadership attention get actioned.
Conference Objectives
The overarching objectives is to create a path to resilience through impact assessment and leadership. To accomplish this objective, IAIA23 endeavors to curate a collection of presentations relating to conceptual advances and contextual applications of impacts assessment that exemplify agility, transformation, innovation, leadership, sustainability, and resilience.
