The Graduate Diploma of Education is designed to meet the demand of degree holders for a postgraduate course in Education. This course aims to enhance the student learning experience by transforming teaching approaches, practice and innovation using technology and design. It addresses innovative and flexible ways of learning and teaching in contemporary learning environments and contributes to a professional culture of scholarship and academic research.

Course details

Duration of study

This program is designed for students to complete in 1 year (full-time) or 2 years (part-time). Full-time students will undertake two units of study per semester or eight units per year whereas part-time students will undertake one unit of study per semester or four units per year.

Each term consists of 10 weeks of teaching and learning and there are four terms per year. Classes are normally held on weekday evenings. In addition to formal class time, students are expected to participate in peer teaching sessions to give them an opportunity to experiment with teaching techniques and critically evaluate them, as well as conduct real-life classroom teaching for relevant practical units.

Students must complete 8 units of study (100 credit points) comprising of 7 core units and 1 elective unit (12.5 credit points each).

  1. ‎An approved undergraduate qualification in any discipline from a recognised university or college, with a CGPA of 2.5 or equivalent on the Malaysian Grading system,

OR

  1. A completion of Graduate Certificate of Education,

OR

iii. A qualification deemed to be equivalent (as assessed by the awarding faculty) to any of the above.

English Requirements

IELTS (Academic Module): Overall 6.5 with no individual band below 6.0

TOEFL iBT: minimum score 79 (Reading no less than 13, Writing no less than 21)

Or equivalent.
